Tu B'shvat Buds

On Sunday January 21, 5 girls between the ages of 10 and 13, met at the first meeting of the Bat Mitzvah Club. We learned that a person is like a tree, and we blossom with our mitzvot. We also learned that a Bat Mitzvah is not only a party, it's the time when you become a young woman.
In addition to learning the importance of becoming a woman, we had fun with our new friends, and made edible flowers out of junk food! It was tons and tons of fun! Each of the YOUNG WOMEN, got to pick a job to do for their next meeting. I got to write about the great fun we had. It was fun and exiting meeting new friends. I want to thank Sarah Fraida for making this all happen.

ESTHER-BEAUTIFUL INSIDE AND OUT

On Sunday, February 18th the Bat Mitzvah Club of Mississauga met for its second meeting....... This week's topic was Purim!
We learned about Esther and how she was beautiful inside and out...Of course Sara Slavin made it so much fun!! We did guessing games on who's secret was who's and we did scenarios and we had to think about a proper answer for the problem!
Finally, we made a delicious treat...Can you say Hamentashen!! We had so much fun at this meeting. I would like to say thank you from all of the BMC Members to Sara Slavin for making this day so much fun!!!
BMC Meeting #3
G‑d's Bat Mitzvah Gift

On the day of March 24th 2007, we had a Bat Mitzvah meeting. For me, it was my very first one.
The first activity we did was talking about what makes us 'us'. We wrote inside our journals, about this topic: 'If your soul could talk, what would it say? Why do you say that?'. Everyone had a different answer and they were all unique.
Another activity we did was talking about why the flame of a candle always wants to stay going up. The reason for that is, the flame is like our soul, it always wants connect with G‑d, heaven. Then we heard a song called 'The Souls Story'. It explained what happens before the soul goes down to earth and what happens when a soul comes to heaven.
The next activity we did, was making candles. Everyone would pick any object that they would like to put inside their candle. By the time we were done, everyones candle was unique.
